This powerful yet easy-to-program (only 35 single word instructions) CMOS FLASH-based 8-bit microcontroller packs Microchip's powerful PIC architecture into a 28 pin package.The PIC16F886 features 256 bytes of EEPROM data memory, self programming, an ICD, 2 Comparators, 11 channels of 10-bit Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter, 1 capture/compare/PWM and 1 Enhanced capture/compare/PWM functions, a synchronous serial port that can be configured as either 3-wire Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) or the 2-wire Inter-Integrated Circuit (I²C) bus and an Enhanced Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (EUSART). All of these features make it ideal for more advanced level A/D applications in automotive, industrial, appliances or consumer applications.

The DM300027 is a low cost 16bit 28 Pin starter development board an easy to use tool that allows you to start development with dsPIC30F/dsPIC33F and PIC24 devices. The 16bit 28 Pin starter development board is supplied with a preloaded device that demonstrates the following board functionality Interrupt handling using timer1 to toggle the LEDs, UART functionality using the on board USB to echo characters sent from a PC terminal programmed with a 9600 baud rate. The development board has the option of being powered by a 9V DC power supply or by the USB bus. The position of jumper JP1 determines which power source is used. Connect jumper pins 1 and 2 for the 9V power supply or jumper pins 2 and 3 for the USB. In addition, jumper JP2 selects either 5V or 3.3V power source for the targeted device. The dsPIC30F/dsPIC33F and PIC24 devices use an on board PIC18 and USB interface for UART communications.

8-Pin SOIC/MSOP/TSSOP/DIP Evaluation Board

 This is a blank PCB that allows the operation of Microchip Technology’s 8-pin devices to be easily evaluated
. Each device pin is connected to a pull-up resistor, a pull-down resistor, an in-line resistor, and a loading capacitor.
The PCB pads allow through hole or surface mount connectors to be installed to ease connection to the board.
 Additional passive component footprints are on the board, to allow simple circuits to be implemented.
